## What Bluepic is not

- **Not a general-purpose design tool.** End users do not design; they fill in a form. The design work happens once, in the Template Builder, by a designer or Bluepic's implementation service.
- **Not an AI image generator.** Graphics are rendered deterministically from a template and the user's input. AI is used only for assistive tasks such as background removal, face-detection cropping, and detecting input fields on import, not to generate imagery.
- **Not a digital asset management system.** Bluepic is not a system of record for a brand's entire media library: there is no metadata model, versioning, rights management, or approval workflow, and plans are sized for hundreds, not tens of thousands, of stored assets. What it does offer is distribution: a campaign can hand out finished files such as PDFs, videos, or documents alongside its generators, so partners have one place for self-serve graphics and ready-made assets, with opens and downloads in the analytics.
- **Not a managed creative service.** Bluepic is self-serve software; the optional implementation service builds templates, it does not run campaigns.
- **Not self-hosted.** Bluepic is cloud-only.

## Compared with shared template files (Canva, PowerPoint, Figma templates)

Shared editable files let recipients change colours, fonts, and layout, which breaks brand guidelines and produces inconsistent results. A Bluepic generator locks everything except the fields the owner exposes, adapts the layout to the content automatically, and tracks usage in the analytics dashboard. Recipients need no account or software.

## Compared with creative automation and DAM platforms

Bluepic focuses on one job: letting large groups of non-designers self-serve on-brand graphics through generators, widgets, and an API. It is priced by a yearly credit allowance per exported graphic starting with a free plan, rather than as an enterprise-only suite, and it is operated from Germany under GDPR.
