# Pre-populate data from LinkedIn

A design generator can pre-fill itself from a user's LinkedIn profile, so they start with their name and profile picture already in place instead of entering them by hand.

It takes two steps, and both are required:

1. **Name the variables in your template.** The feature only fills input fields whose [variable name](https://bluepic.io/help/input-fields/input-field-variable-name) is exactly `LINKEDIN_NAME` (for the name) or `LINKEDIN_PICTURE` (for the profile picture). Rename the relevant fields to one or both of these. Without at least one, there is nothing for LinkedIn to fill.
2. **Turn the feature on.** In the campaign's **Social Connections** step, enable **Pre-fill Templates with data from LinkedIn**.

Now the design generator offers a sign-in with LinkedIn, and on sign-in it fills your `LINKEDIN_NAME` and `LINKEDIN_PICTURE` fields automatically. Users can still change anything afterwards.
