# Functions

Functions transform and combine values inside an expression. They are always written in capitals, with their inputs in brackets and separated by commas: `ROUND(3.7)`, `ADD(width, 40)`. You can nest one inside another: `MAX(ADD(a, b), 100)`.

In the expression editor's **Builder view**, functions are grouped into categories:

- **Math**: arithmetic and numbers, like `ADD`, `SUB`, `MULT`, `DIV`, `ROUND`, `MIN`, `MAX`, and `ABS`.
- **Logic**: conditions and comparisons, like `IF`, `AND`, `OR`, `NOT`, `EQUAL`, and `SWITCH`.
- **Color**: adjust colours, like `COLOR_LIGHTEN`, `COLOR_DARKEN`, and `COLOR_CONTRAST`.
- **Helpers**: specialised tools, like `QR_CODE`.
