In the Batch Editor, you create many designs at once from one template and a CSV file. Each row of the table becomes one image or PDF, and its columns fill the template's input fields. The Batch Editor is included in every paid plan.

This takes three steps:

1. Import your data into the Batch Editor.
2. Check the designs in the preview.
3. Download the designs as a ZIP file.

## Import your data

1. Click, depending on where you are:

   - In the template editor: **Share** at the top right, then **Open Batch Editor**.
   - In a folder: **…** on the template card, then **Open in Batch Editor**.

The Batch Editor opens. The preview is at the top, and below it a table with one row per design and one column per input field.

   > **Open Batch Editor is greyed out?** The Batch Editor is part of the paid plans. On the Free plan, the entry is greyed out. If you open the Batch Editor anyway, it says "Batch editor is a paid feature". Switch to a paid plan in **Settings → Billing**.

2. Click **Import Data** at the top left. A popup opens.

   ![Top bar of the Batch Editor with Import Data and Download highlighted.](https://imagedelivery.net/mudX-CmAqIANL8bxoNCToA/help/KB-batch-editor-02/public?v=00ada23b){width="894"}

3. Drag your CSV file into the area in the popup. You can also click the area and choose the file. The popup now shows your table.

   > **You can't choose your file?** The Batch Editor only accepts CSV files. Save your table as a CSV file in Excel or Google Sheets and drag that into the area.

4. Click **Auto Map Fields**. Bluepic matches the columns to the input fields. Above each column you now see which input field it fills.
5. Look at the match above each column. If it says **Select field** or shows the wrong input field, click it and choose the right one.

6. Click **Import** at the top right of the popup. Each row of your file is now a row in the Batch Editor. Input fields without a column keep their default value. A new import replaces all rows in the table.

## Check the designs in the preview

1. Click the eye on the right of a row. The preview at the top now shows the design of that row.

2. Look especially at long texts, image crops and empty cells. Check several rows before you create many designs.
3. Click a cell if a value is wrong, and change it. This only changes that row, not your template.

## Download the designs

1. Click the boxes on the left of the rows if you only need some of the designs. Without a selection, the Batch Editor creates all rows.
2. If your template has several canvases, there is a selection of your canvases at the top next to **Import Data**. Choose which size is created: one canvas, **All canvases** (one file per canvas for each row, each one costs credits) or **From data** (a column of the table sets the size for each row).
3. Hover over **Download** at the top right and click **PNG**, **JPEG** or **PDF**. Clicking **Download** itself picks PNG. The **File Name Convention** popup opens.

   > **Download is greyed out?** Hover over the button. If it says that you are out of credits, the Batch Editor is paused. An admin adds credits under **Settings** > **Billing**. The pause also ends when your usage is back within your allowance, for example in the next billing period. If there is no message, the Batch Editor is still loading.

4. Choose in the popup how the files should be named. The first option numbers them. The others name each file after the value of an input field, for example a name.

5. Click **Continue**. Bluepic creates the designs and shows the progress. Then your browser downloads one ZIP file with all designs. It is named after your template. Each image costs 0.1 credit.

   > **Out of credits appears?** Your credits ran out during the download, and the 3-day grace period is over. Click **Go to billing** and add credits. Then start the download again.

6. Look at the files in the ZIP file. Check long texts and image crops in particular.

> **Note:** If your credits run out, the Batch Editor keeps working for a grace period of 3 days. These designs still cost credits. After that it pauses until there are enough credits again. On Enterprise it never pauses: extra usage is billed instead.
