In the template editor, you publish a template with a link. Whoever opens the link gets to the design generator: the page where users fill in your input fields and export their design.

This takes three steps:

1. Publish the template in the template editor.
2. Test the link in the design generator and share it.
3. Take the link offline again if needed.

## Publish the template

1. Click **Share** at the top right of the toolbar. A menu opens.

   ![Share menu with Create campaign, Automate, Publish Template Link and Open Batch Editor.](https://imagedelivery.net/mudX-CmAqIANL8bxoNCToA/help/KB-publishing-templates-01/public){width="241"}

2. Click **Publish Template Link**. Bluepic saves the template and publishes it. A popup with the share settings opens. The link is at the top, a preview of your design generator below it. The link works from now on.

   > **You see Move to share instead of the share settings?** The template is in **Drafts**, **Archive** or **Presets**. Templates there are private and can't be published. Choose a folder and click **Move to …**. The share settings open afterwards. In the new folder, every canvas of the template takes up one slot of your plan.

   > **You see the note No Fields?** Your template has no input fields yet. Users can then only export the design, not change anything. [Create an input field: let users change a text or image](https://bluepic.io/help/input-fields/create-input-field) explains how to add input fields.

If you have published the template before, the menu item is called **Open Template Campaign**. It opens the same popup.

## Test and share the link

1. If you want a readable address, click **Edit URL**. A field for the address appears.
2. Type the new address after the slash and click **Save**.

   > **You see This URL is already taken?** Another campaign already uses this address. Choose a different one.

3. Click **Copy URL**. The message "Copied to clipboard" appears. The link is now on your clipboard.
4. Open the link in a new browser tab. The design generator opens.
5. Test every input field and every canvas the way users would.
6. Click **Export** and export a design. Your test export costs a credit too.

Then share the link with your users, for example by email or on your website.

> **Note:** If you change the template later, you don't need to publish again. As soon as you save, all users see the new version.

## Take the link offline

You can switch the link off at any time without deleting the template.

1. Click **Share** at the top right of the toolbar and then **Open Template Campaign**. The popup with the share settings opens.
2. Click **Delete URL**. The link no longer works. **Make live** switches it back on.

The link also goes offline when you move a published template into **Drafts**, **Archive** or **Presets**. Bluepic asks you first.

> **Tip:** To offer several templates in one design generator or design the page yourself, create a campaign. See [Create a campaign: share several templates in one design generator](https://bluepic.io/help/campaigns/create-campaign).

The **Share** menu offers more ways: **Automate** gives you image URLs and a render API, see [Automate: create images by URL and API](https://bluepic.io/help/data-and-automation/automation-campaigns). **Open Batch Editor** creates many designs from a table, see [Generate designs with the Batch Editor](https://bluepic.io/help/template-management/batch-editor). It is greyed out on the Free plan. If a campaign already uses the template, you open it there with **Open** and the campaign's name.
