Frequently asked questions

What is Bluepic?

Bluepic is a SaaS platform for distributed social marketing. Custom brand templates can be turned into editable Design Generators with Bluepic. These generators are interactive forms that anyone can fill out to create on-brand graphics in seconds. It works without any design skills because design errors simply can't happen. The Design Generator automatically adapts the design to new content.

How does Bluepic work?

The Bluepic workflow has three steps. First, you create graphic templates in our Template Builder. Then you define which elements the users of a Design Generator are allowed to edit. To do this, you connect input fields (text input, image upload, dropdown menus, etc.) with the elements you've created. You can customize the input fields to your needs, for example, set character limits or restrict image sources to your company's own image cloud. In the final step, you share the finished Design Generator with your community. That works via link, as an embeddable website widget, or as a Design Toolkit. Users fill in the fields and the generator automatically adapts to the new content. Your design guidelines are maintained automatically.

Who is Bluepic for?

Bluepic is built for organizations that need to empower many people to create on-brand content themselves. Our workflow makes it possible to customize graphics in a simple, intuitive way without involving a design team. Our primary customers are trade fair and conference organizers who provide their speakers, exhibitors, and attendees with personalizable social media graphics. We also serve universities, franchise networks, associations, NGOs, and retail brands.

How can I prevent users from making mistakes?

In the Template Builder, you define exactly what users of the Design Generator later can edit and what they can't. Every element that isn't connected to an input field stays locked. For the editable fields, you have a range of constraints available. For example you can set a character limit for text or create a dropdown menus for predefined options. Dynamic layouts ensure that new content automatically adapts to your design. Your users simply can't use the generator "wrong," because the design processes all inputs correctly by default.

What is a "Design Generator"?

You can share one or more graphic templates created in our Template Builder with your target groups as part of a Design Generator. While templates in the Template Builder can be edited freely, templates in the Design Generator are locked and can only be modified through predefined input fields. End users cannot break the layout or violate brand guidelines. They can only change the content you've predefined, e.g., name, photo, job title. Design Generators can be shared via URL or embedded as a widget on a website.

How long does it take to set up a campaign?

The duration depends on the complexity of your graphic templates. If you use an existing preset, your generator can be published in just a few minutes. Building a custom graphic template from scratch in the Template Builder typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. However, this depends heavily on your experience with design software. Once the template is ready, publishing it as a generator takes just a few clicks.

Do I need design skills to use Bluepic?

Bluepic has two sides. Creating graphic templates in the Template Builder requires design skills. This is typically handled by your marketing or design team, alternatively, you can engage Bluepic's own implementation service. Using the finished Design Generators requires no design skills whatsoever. Users of the Design Generator fill in the fields and the generator automatically adapts to the new content. Your design guidelines are maintained automatically.

Does Bluepic offer support?

Yes, Bluepic offers various support options depending on your plan.

  • All users have access to our email support.
  • From the PRO plan onwards, a personal Account Manager is available to assist you with setting up and optimizing your campaigns.
  • The ENTERPRISE plan additionally includes an Onboarding Workshop where we set up your first graphic templates and Design Generators together.

Regardless of your plan, you can use our Implementation Service at any time and have your designs created by our team for 300 EUR per graphic template.

What is the Template Builder?

In the Template Builder, your design team creates and manages graphic templates and publishes Design Generators. The Template Builder includes configuration of Design Generators as Widgets and Toolkits. Working with the Template Builder requires neither an installation nor powerful hardware. The browser-based Template Builder is accessible at https://studio.bluepic.io on desktop devices.

What is a Design Toolkit (Campaign Kit)?

A Design Toolkit (also called a Campaign Kit) is a gallery containing multiple graphic templates. For example, a trade fair organizer can create a toolkit with templates for LinkedIn posts, email signatures, and website banners, all combined in a single gallery. Stakeholders receive a single link to the toolkit and can then choose from a variety of templates. Toolkits can be public or invite-only.

How does peer-to-peer event marketing work?

In peer-to-peer event marketing, your entire event community becomes a multiplier. Instead of running centralized advertising, you provide your speakers, exhibitors, attendees, and partners with personalizable graphics. Each person shares their individual graphic within their own network. This creates organic reach that is more authentic and credible than traditional advertising.

Can I use Bluepic for free?

Yes. Bluepic offers a free plan with 50 credits (each credit equals one download), up to 5 graphic templates, and access to the essential features. This includes unrestricted access to the Template Builder and the ability to publish templates as Design Generators. Some features like the Batch Editor and Analytics Dashboard are not included in the free plan.

Bluepic is also present internationally, for example, at FieraMesse Bolzano in South Tyrol and Koelnmesse Inc. in the USA. Beyond the major trade fair companies, event agencies like tmf dialogue marketing, MEET GERMANY, and ECENT work with Bluepic to run social proof campaigns for their events.

Yes. Bluepic is operated by FellowBlue GmbH, headquartered in Cologne, Germany. The platform is fully GDPR compliant. End users do not need tracking cookies to use Design Generators.
