Use a custom domain

Last updated October 22, 2026

Under Assets in Studio, you add your own domain. Users then reach your campaign's design generator at your own web address, for example brand.example.com/summer, instead of template.bluepic.io. Custom domains are an Enterprise feature.

This takes three steps:

  1. Add the domain under Assets in Studio.
  2. Create the CNAME record at your DNS provider.
  3. Choose the domain in your campaign's Share step.

Add the domain

  1. Click Assets in the Studio navigation, then Domains. The Custom Domains page opens.
You see CNAME / Custom Domain is only available for enterprise plan instead of Add a custom domain?

Custom domains are not enabled for your account. They are part of the Enterprise plan. Click Contact us to write us an email.

    Assets menu with Domains highlighted.
  2. Click Add a custom domain. A popup opens.
  3. Type a subdomain you own, for example brand.example.com or www.example.com.
    You can't click Add?

A root domain such as example.com doesn't work, because it can't have a CNAME record. Use a subdomain. If it has to be the root domain, its name servers would have to move to Bluepic. Click contact us in the popup for that.

  4. Click Add. The domain is now in the list with the status pending.

Create the CNAME record

You create the CNAME record at the provider that manages your domain. It connects your domain to Bluepic.

  1. Click your domain in the list. A popup with the message "Your domain is pending verification." opens. The values for your record are under CNAME setup.
Popup of the example domain design.example.com with the message “Your domain is pending verification.”, below it CNAME setup; Name (design) and Target (template.bluepic.io) with their Copy buttons are highlighted.
  2. Open the DNS settings of your DNS provider in a new browser tab and create a new CNAME record.
  3. Enter the values of Name and Target from the popup there. Copy next to each field copies its value.
  4. Save the record at your DNS provider. From now on, Bluepic checks it automatically about every 5 minutes. You don't need to click anything for that.
  5. Look at your domain's status later in Studio under Assets → Domains. When it says active, the domain is ready. You don't need to set up a certificate.
    The domain stays pending?

DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to reach everywhere. Check that Name and Target are entered exactly as in the popup. Some DNS providers need a dot at the end of the target: template.bluepic.io.

Use the domain for a campaign

In your campaign's Share step, you set the address where its design generator can be reached.

  1. Click the Share step at the top of your campaign.
  2. Click Edit URL. A dropdown menu with the domain appears on the left, the address after the slash next to it.
The domain dropdown is greyed out?

If its tooltip says "Custom domains are an Enterprise feature.", custom domains are not enabled for your account. Contact us. If it says "Add a custom domain in the domain settings to use it here.", you haven't added a domain yet.

Edit URL with the domain dropdown greyed out and the tooltip Custom domains are an Enterprise feature.
  3. Choose your domain in the dropdown menu. Only use a domain with the status active.
  4. Type a different address after the slash if you want. It already shows the previous address or the campaign's name.
You see This URL is already taken?

Another campaign already uses this address. Choose a different one.

  5. Click Save. The campaign can now be reached on your domain.
  6. Open the new link in a new browser tab and check that the design generator appears.
