In the template editor, you publish a template with a link. Whoever opens the link gets to the design generator: the page where users fill in your input fields and export their design.
This takes three steps:
- Publish the template in the template editor.
- Test the link in the design generator and share it.
- Take the link offline again if needed.
Publish the template
- Click Share at the top right of the toolbar. A menu opens.
- Click Publish Template Link. Bluepic saves the template and publishes it. A popup with the share settings opens. The link is at the top, a preview of your design generator below it. The link works from now on.
You see Move to share instead of the share settings?
The template is in Drafts, Archive or Presets. Templates there are private and can't be published. Choose a folder and click Move to …. The share settings open afterwards. In the new folder, every canvas of the template takes up one slot of your plan.
You see the note No Fields?
Your template has no input fields yet. Users can then only export the design, not change anything. Create an input field: let users change a text or image explains how to add input fields.
If you have published the template before, the menu item is called Open Template Campaign. It opens the same popup.
Test and share the link
- If you want a readable address, click Edit URL. A field for the address appears.
- Type the new address after the slash and click Save.
You see This URL is already taken?
Another campaign already uses this address. Choose a different one.
- Click Copy URL. The message "Copied to clipboard" appears. The link is now on your clipboard.
- Open the link in a new browser tab. The design generator opens.
- Test every input field and every canvas the way users would.
- Click Export and export a design. Your test export costs a credit too.
Then share the link with your users, for example by email or on your website.
Take the link offline
You can switch the link off at any time without deleting the template.
- Click Share at the top right of the toolbar and then Open Template Campaign. The popup with the share settings opens.
- Click Delete URL. The link no longer works. Make live switches it back on.
The link also goes offline when you move a published template into Drafts, Archive or Presets. Bluepic asks you first.
The Share menu offers more ways: Automate gives you image URLs and a render API, see Automate: create images by URL and API. Open Batch Editor creates many designs from a table, see Generate designs with the Batch Editor. It is greyed out on the Free plan. If a campaign already uses the template, you open it there with Open and the campaign's name.
