In the Share step of the campaign editor, After ticket purchase connects your campaign to your ticket shop. Right after buying their ticket, buyers land in the design generator, with their name and other data from the shop already filled in. Bluepic gives you a link or a snippet with placeholders, and your ticket shop replaces them with each buyer's data in its confirmation e-mail or on its confirmation page.
This takes four steps:
- Choose in the Share step how buyers get to their design.
- Enter your ticket shop's placeholders.
- Add the link or the snippet to your ticket shop.
- Test it with a purchase of your own.
Choose how buyers get to their design
- Click Share at the top of your campaign. The step opens with Share a link.
- Click the After ticket purchase card. On the left you see the two ways and the variables of the campaign, on the right the link.
Instead of the variables it says The campaign's templates have no fields yet?
The variables come from the input fields of the campaign's templates. Add a template in the Customize step, or create input fields for your template in the template editor.
- Choose how buyers get to their design:
- Link to the campaign: a link for the confirmation e-mail, or for the page your shop forwards buyers to after the purchase. It is selected at the start.
- Open as a popup on your confirmation page: a snippet for your shop's confirmation page. The design generator opens on top of the page.
Enter your ticket shop's placeholders
- Look up in your ticket shop's help which placeholders it offers, for example for the name and the company.
- Type the placeholder your shop uses for each value under Placeholder in your ticket shop, next to its variable. Write it exactly the way your shop does, with all brackets and percent signs. The grey entries are only examples. On the right, the link or the snippet now holds your shop's placeholders.
Leave the placeholder empty for every variable your shop has no data for. The variable is then left out on the right. Leave out images too, unless your shop has a public image URL for each buyer: buyers then upload their photo themselves in the design generator. - Check that the link or the snippet on the right only holds the variables your shop fills in.
Add the link or the snippet to your ticket shop
- Click Copy at the top right of the link or the snippet. The message "Copied to the clipboard" appears.
- Paste the link or the snippet into your ticket shop, depending on the way you chose:
- For the link:
- into the confirmation e-mail, as the address of a link or button, or
- as the address your shop forwards buyers to after the purchase.
- For the snippet:
- into the HTML of the confirmation page, where your shop lets you add your own code. The popup opens the first template of the campaign.
- For the link:
The link needs one more thing from your shop. Not every character can simply stand in a link. Spaces, & and other special characters are written as codes there, for example %26 for &. This is called URL encoding, and your shop has to encode every value it puts into the link. Look up in your shop's help whether its placeholders have a form with URL encoding, and use that form. If they don't, take the popup: it needs no URL encoding.
Test it with a purchase of your own
The design generator is the page where buyers fill in and export their design. Test the whole way once, the way a buyer goes it. When a buyer exports their design, it costs credits like every export from the design generator.
- Buy a ticket in your shop yourself, or use its test mode. Enter a company with an
&in its name, such as "Müller & Söhne GmbH". - Open the link in the confirmation e-mail, or go to the confirmation page. The design generator opens with your data in the input fields. If the campaign has several templates, pick one first.
The design shows a placeholder instead of your data?
Your shop didn't recognise the placeholder and left it as it was. Check its spelling in your shop's help, correct it in the Share step and copy the link or the snippet again.
A name or company is cut off?
Your shop put the value into the link without URL encoding, so it ends at the first
&: "Müller & Söhne GmbH" arrives as "Müller". Use your shop's placeholder with URL encoding, or the popup. No popup opens on the confirmation page?
The snippet only works if your shop runs your own scripts on the confirmation page. If it only allows text or plain HTML there, use the link instead.
- Check that every input field shows the whole value.
