In the Share step of your campaign, Generate URLs creates one link per recipient. When someone opens their link, the input fields in the design generator are already filled in with their data. You send the links yourself, for example with your mailing tool.
This takes four steps:
- Download the CSV template in the Share step.
- Enter the recipients and import the file.
- Export the links.
- Test a link in the design generator.
Download the CSV template
- Click Share at the top of your campaign.
- Click Generate URLs. A popup with the tabs Data and Campaign Links opens, with Data selected. If the campaign isn't live yet, a message at the top says so: the links are created now, but they only open once you click Make live in the Share step.
Instead of a table it says This campaign has no templates yet?
The columns come from the campaign's templates. Choose at least one template in the Templates step first.
- Click Download CSV template. You get a CSV file with one column per variable of your templates. The first column is
email.
Enter and import the recipients
- Enter one row per recipient in the file. For an image, enter an image URL. If a cell stays empty, the input field shows the template's default value. The links don't check who opens them: only enter data that anyone who gets the link may see.
- Save the file as CSV. Leave the column headings as they are.
- Click Import data in the popup and choose the file. You can also drag it into the popup. The message "Imported … rows" appears. Each row is now a recipient with their own link. Up to 5,000 rows are possible.
The file isn't imported?
Bluepic imports a file completely or not at all. Every column heading has to be a variable of the campaign, and there has to be an
emailcolumn. Upper and lower case don't matter. The message names every column that doesn't fit. Fix the headings and import the file again.
Export the links
- Click Campaign Links at the top of the popup. You see each recipient's link.
- Click Export CSV. You get a file with the columns
emailandcampaign_link. - Make sure that each recipient gets their own link when you import the file into your mailing tool.
Test a link in the design generator
The design generator is the page recipients open with their link. Test a link there before you send the links. Previews with the recipients' data cost no credits. When a recipient exports their design, it costs credits like every export from the design generator.
- Click the box with the arrow on the right of a row under Campaign Links. This is the Open in a new tab button. The design generator opens, and the previews already show this recipient's data.
The link shows no data?
If the link belongs to a deleted row or to an earlier import, the normal campaign opens without data. There is no error message. Export the links again after every import.
- Click a template. The input fields are already filled in.
- Check that every input field shows the right data.
