Social Connections: export targets of a campaign

Last updated October 22, 2026

In the Social Connections step of a web or widget campaign, you decide what users can do with their finished design in the design generator: download it, share it on social media or send it to another system. Team campaigns don't have this step. How to set up a campaign is explained in Create a campaign: share several templates in one design generator.

You open the step with Social Connections at the top of your campaign. If the campaign is live, a preview of the design generator is shown on the right. In a new campaign, only Download is switched on and all social networks are off.

Social Connections: Verifiable Targets with LinkedIn and Unverifiable Targets with Instagram, Facebook, X, Mail and WhatsApp.

Verifiable Targets

For these targets, Bluepic can tell whether users really published their post.

  • LinkedIn: users share their design directly on LinkedIn. You see the published post under Analytics. Off by default.
  • Pre-fill Templates with data from LinkedIn: users can sign in with LinkedIn. Their name, email address and profile picture are then already in the matching input fields. This also works when the LinkedIn switch is off. Off by default. How to set it up is explained in Pre-fill input fields with LinkedIn data.
  • Redact post logging: Bluepic only stores the link to a LinkedIn post and the time it was posted. Off by default. More in Redact post logging: store less data about LinkedIn posts.

Unverifiable Targets

Instagram, Facebook, X, Mail and WhatsApp don't report back whether users really posted. You switch each target on separately. All of them are off by default.

Users finish their post themselves here. On an iPhone or iPad, the device's share menu opens with the file and the post text. On other devices, users download their design, copy the post text and open the platform themselves.

Other Actions

  • Download: users download their design as a file. On by default.
  • Webhook: users get a Webhook button. Clicking it sends the data from the user's browser to your URL as a POST request with JSON. Off by default.
  • Redirect: users get a Redirect button. Clicking it takes them to your URL and adds the data as query parameters. Off by default.

When you switch on Webhook or Redirect, a field for the URL appears below it. Both fields show the placeholder Webhook URL. Users only see the button once a URL is entered.

Other Actions with Download, Webhook and Redirect switched on and example URLs, and below a caption assigned to all templates.

What Webhook and Redirect send

  • Webhook sends a JSON object with templateId, campaignId, data (the values of the input fields), caption and assets. assets contains links to the finished files, not the files themselves. Because the request comes from the browser, your server has to accept requests from other websites (CORS). If it works, users see the message "Successfully sent to webhook!".
  • Redirect adds templateId, campaignId, data (as JSON), caption and asset_1, asset_2 and so on to your URL. The asset_… parameters are links to the finished files.

Captions

Under Captions you suggest a text for the users' post. Users see it when they share and can change it. The section is collapsed at first.

  • New caption: creates a new post text.
  • Add: assigns the text to a template. Each template has at most one text.
  • Assign to all: assigns the text to all templates of the campaign and takes them away from other texts.

Bluepic counts clicks on links in a LinkedIn post under Analytics.
