Change the order of input fields

Last updated October 22, 2026

In the Input Fields view, you decide in which order users see the input fields in the design generator: in the same order as in the list. The order only changes the form, not which element is in front or behind in the design.

This takes three steps:

  1. Change the order in the Input Fields view.
  2. Move input fields to another slide if your template has several slides.
  3. Test the order in the design generator.

Change the order

The Input Fields view shows all input fields of your template, and you configure them there.

  1. Click Input Fields at the top right of the toolbar. The Input Fields view opens.
An input field is missing from the list?

If your template has several slides, the list only shows the input fields of the slide selected above the list. Click the number of another slide above the list.

Top right of the toolbar with the Input Fields button highlighted.
  2. Drag an input field by the three lines on the left of its header to the place where users should see it. The three lines sit right of the selection checkbox. The input field is now in its new place.
List in the Input Fields view with the three drag lines highlighted.
  3. Drag an input field into or out of an input field group or collection the same way if it belongs there. It then sits together with the other input fields of the group or collection.
  4. Click × at the top right to close the Input Fields view.

Move input fields to another slide

If your template has several slides, every input field belongs to one slide. The list only shows the input fields of the selected slide. Input fields inside an input field group or collection always show with their group or collection.

  1. Click Input Fields at the top right of the toolbar. The Input Fields view opens.
  2. Click the number of the slide the input fields are on now, above the list. The list now shows the input fields of that slide.
  3. Click the checkbox on the left of every input field you want to move. The input fields are now selected.
  4. Hover over Move to slide in the bar at the top. A list of the slides opens.
Move to slide is greyed out?

The button only works once at least one input field is selected. Click the checkbox on the left of an input field. If your template has only one slide, the button always stays greyed out.

  5. Click the slide the input fields should belong to, for example Slide 2. The input fields are now on that slide, and the list jumps there.
  6. Click × at the top right to close the Input Fields view.

Test the order in the design generator

The design generator is the page where users fill in your template and export their design. There you see the input fields in the order users fill them in.

  1. When you are done with your input fields, click Share at the top right and then Publish Template Link. If you have published the template before, the menu item is called Open Template Campaign. A popup with the share settings opens. Your template can now be reached through a link.
  2. Click Copy URL and open the link in a new browser tab. The design generator opens. On a computer, the input fields are on the left and the design on the right.
  3. Look whether the input fields are in the order users should fill them in.
  4. Look at the link on a phone too. There the design generator shows the input fields one after the other, usually one at a time. Check that the order works there as well.
