In the Generator Theme step of a web or widget campaign, you decide what the design generator looks like and how users pick a template in it. The design inside your templates doesn't change. How to set up a campaign is explained in Create a campaign: share several templates in one design generator.
You open the settings with the Generator Theme step at the top of the campaign. A preview of the design generator is on the right. Team campaigns have no Generator Theme step.
Title
- Title: the name of your design generator. Users see it in the browser tab and in the gallery above the templates. The empty field shows "Title of your design generator".
Theme
The theme sets the colors, fonts and corners of the design generator.
Choose a theme
- High contrast: a switch, labelled High contrast (WCAG AAA text, stronger borders) in Studio. It gives text and borders more contrast and works with every theme. Off by default.
- Default Colors: ready-made themes from Bluepic. New campaigns start with the dark theme.
- Custom Colors: your saved themes. They show here in every campaign once you have saved a theme.
- Add theme: starts a theme of your own from the current colors. If you haven't saved a theme yet, it is the tile with the plus after the Default Colors.
- Header Font: the font for headings.
- Label Font: the font for labels.
- Corner Radius: how round the corners in the design generator are, from Sharp to Pill. The default is Default.
Your own theme
These settings only appear while you edit a theme of your own.
- Background Color: the background color of the design generator.
- Primary Color: the main color, for example for buttons.
- Advanced: Configure JSON shows the whole theme as JSON, including settings that have no control of their own. Import JSON lets you paste a changed JSON, Apply theme applies it to the campaign.
- Save as Custom Theme: saves the theme under a name. It is then available in every campaign under Custom Colors.
- Update Theme: saves your changes to a saved theme.
- Delete Theme: deletes a saved theme. Campaigns that use it keep their look.
Bluepic Branding and Field hints
Both are checkboxes at the bottom of the Theme section.
- Bluepic Branding: shows the Bluepic branding in the design generator. On by default. You can remove it on any paid plan. On the Free plan, unticking it opens the Unlock branding removal popup with the note "Bluepic branding is included on the Free tier. To remove it, upgrade to a paid plan." Go to billing takes you to your plan, Cancel closes the popup. The checkbox has nothing to do with the credit watermark on exported files.
- Field hints: shows users which part of the design an input field changes. On by default. You set up the hint for each input field in the template editor.
Layout
The layout decides how users pick a template. In web campaigns, the files from the Assets step show here too, after the templates.
- Template Selection via Gallery: users pick a template from a gallery. The default. Categories only exist with this layout. When it is selected, its card has two checkboxes:
- Sort by categories: the same checkbox as in the Categories section.
- Pan and Zoom: users can zoom into their design and move it around while they fill it in. Off by default.
- Template selection via slider (horizontal): the templates sit in a slider that scrolls sideways.
- Template selection via slider (vertical): the templates sit in a slider that scrolls up and down.
Categories
The Categories section only exists with the Template Selection via Gallery layout. Categories group templates and files in the gallery.
- Sort by categories: sorts the gallery by category and shows the list of your categories below. On for new campaigns.
- New category: adds a new category.
- Category name: the name of the category that users see in the gallery. You can only add something once it has a name.
- Add: opens a list of all templates and files of the campaign. What you select there belongs to the category. Clicking it again takes it out.
- Add all: adds all templates and files of the campaign to the category.
- Delete category: the trash can next to the name. It deletes the category. The templates and files stay in the campaign.
If the campaign has no templates or files yet, the section shows "Add templates or assets to this campaign to create categories."
