Under Templates in the navigation at the top, your templates sit in folders. The folder list on the left shows your own folders and, in a team, the colleagues' folders you pinned.
Folders and what they count
Every new account starts with a folder called My templates. You create more folders yourself (see below).
The number next to a folder counts canvases, not templates. A template with three sizes counts three times. So the number can be higher than the number of template cards in the folder.
Every canvas in a regular folder counts toward your plan's template limit. How high it is is in How templates and assets count towards your limits.
System folders: Drafts, Archive and Presets
Teams have three system folders:
- Drafts is for each team member's work in progress. Every member has their own Drafts folder, at the top of the folder list. Only the member and the team's admins can see it.
- Archive is for templates you no longer use but want to keep. Everyone in the team sees it. You can't create new templates or copies there.
- Presets is for templates your team reuses as a starting point. Only admins see this folder.
The team owner always counts as an admin here. Archive and Presets are fixed entries below the folder list.
For all three:
- They are private. You can't publish templates from them. To share one, you first move it to a regular folder. Publish a template link: share your design generator shows how.
- Templates in them don't count toward the team's template limit.
- A template that a campaign uses can't go into them.
- You can't rename or delete them.
Accounts without a team have no system folders.
Folders in a team: All templates and pinning
Regular folders belong to the whole team, not to the person who created them. Every team member can open them and edit, move and delete the templates in them.
Below the folder list there is a fixed entry, All templates. It is not a folder. It shows every folder of the team as a card, except Archive and Presets. With All members at the top you filter the cards by one team member.
To keep a colleague's folder in your folder list, you pin it. There are two ways:
- Click the pin on the folder's card under All templates.
- Click the three dots of the folder and then Pin.
Unpin takes it out again. You can only pin colleagues' folders, your own are always in the list. Pinning is only a shortcut for you. It gives nobody access.
Create a folder
- Click New folder below the folder list. A popup opens.
- Type a name for the folder.
- Click Create. The new folder is now in your folder list.
Rename, delete or hand over a folder
- Click the three dots to the right of the folder in the folder list. A menu opens.
- Choose an action:
- Rename: type a new name in the popup and click Rename.
- Delete: the folder is deleted right away. This only works for an empty folder.
- Transfer ownership: choose another team member in the popup and click Transfer. The folder stays with the team but now carries that person's name. Only owners and admins see this action, and only if there is someone who can take the folder over.
Delete is grey?
Hover over it. The hint gives the reason. "Cannot delete a folder that contains templates" means there are still templates in the folder. You can delete it once you have moved or deleted them. "Cannot delete the last folder" means it is your last regular folder. You always need one folder for new templates.
On your own Drafts folder, the three dots can't be clicked. To put a single template in another folder, use Move in its menu, see Rename, duplicate, move or delete templates.
Folders in analytics
In Analytics, you can pick a whole folder in the filter. Then you see the numbers of all its templates together.
